The Gozo Kick Boxing Club dates back since the early nintees. In the beginning it formed part of the Spirit Combat syllabus, but since it gained popularity, the Gozo Kick Boxing Club was founded.

The Gozo Kick Boxing Club is run by Master Mario Saliba 4th Dan Degree Black Belt. Master Mario was coached by Kancho Adrian Axisa. The Gozo Kick Boxing Club is affiliated with the Maltese Kick Boxing Union, who in turn is presently internationally recognized by the Martial Arts All Styles (MAAS), the British National Martial Arts Association (BNMA) and the World Kick Boxing Network (WKN).

Throughout the years, four students acquired their Black Belt status, namely: Jonathan Pace, Gerald Busuttil, Chris Sultana and Brian Borg. The club boasts of several prestigious awards gained by its instructor throughout the years:

1989 - full contact, light heavy weight, Maltese champion – Malta (BKBU)
- full contact, light heavy weight, novice European champion – Malta (BKBU)
1994 - semi contact, light heavy weight, tournament winner – Sicily (WAKO)
2002 - semi contact, light heavy weight, European champion – Malta (MAAS)

The main achievements besides others, acquired by students of the club are :

Brian Borg : 2 wins in a semi contact MAAS tournament – England
Jonathan Pace : current, semi contact, cruiser weight, Maltese champion – Malta
